WHAT'S POPPING IN THE LAND OF VIBEZ?

Hey there lovely people. How are you keeping? Wow !!! It has been a while and one heck of a journey. Firstly I want to give the utmost praise and thanks to The Most High in Jesus  Mighty Name. I think the wait has been a long one. Way too long. I tried my best to keep my name going through the ups and downs namely with the ‘X-Perimental Mass’ project and the few solo singles that came after that. And whilst I was hoping to be recording new material by the end of 22' early 23' the studio was not ready in time.

As 2023 moved into mid-summer a brainwave struck and what was going to be an instrumental release of music from the vaults turned into an anthology of past releases and some unreleased works and demos. The strangest thing was that all of my hard drives with my projects on them, wether finished, abandoned, or in progress would not play back. I don't know what occurred during the relocation process but all of my hard drives somehow stopped. Fortunately, I had some stuff preserved on discs (DVD & CD).  A eureka moment occurred when I stumbled upon some vocal stuff that was left on the shelf or stashed in the vaults that I had completely forgotten about (this is where my disc disappointment "really" kicked in). I began to wonder what other stashed completed material, uncompleted tracks, and random demos that I might have lying in those caddies. I will get to sorting them out at some point.

Anyhow, from that moment on I just kept on coming across tracks that made me decide to pull together a vocal project instead. I was going to do an ep with my favorite and most preferred out of the batch but then a better idea came along. I decided to gather up some of my favorite solo releases and put them alongside my tracks from the vaults. From there ‘A Retrospektiv Delux’ Side 1 & 2 was born a double album of twenty-plus tracks. Props going forward to Clinton ‘Ubiquity’ McCreery who took on the task of mastering especially when I could not fine tune what was already recorded because my hard drives with the session-stems were messed up. The first and only single off the project ‘Angel’ was a BCFM top twenty soul chart hit. The Double album was released to a wave of support from Jazz FM's John Osborne, Imran Mirza at Blue In Green Radio, and Soul II Soul's Jazzie Que at Colourful Radio among others.

Fast forward a year later and The Vibezlab Studio is up and running. So right on the cusp of the third quarter I am writing this blog. The first one in quite a long while, but it was worth the wait because I am in a very very positive space right now. All Glory To The Most High. So I am going to wood-shed for a minute and strategize the next chapter. It won't be long.

Until then you lovely people stay blessed and keep the faith.

YAH BLESS
