Another from the vaults series released via Bandcamp. The intention of this track was to amalgamate a kind of hard-core UK garage type drum vibe with soul/jazz elements. By taking a seemingly serious subject and bringing the natural flaws of humanity under the lens I realise I was kind of mirroring Michael Franks' tongue in cheek human observational perspective. I was listening to alot of his music during this time and even my vocals on this track is giving an understated projection on the choruses and the "Love you" ad lib
The moog bass,electric piano, pad textures and latin percussion that generates that feeling of hope and optimism are all characteristic of the kind of 70's soul, Fusion music, neo-soul and UK artist Omar that I love.
Jonny Gow my trusted flautist done a splendid job on this version. This track was a perfect vehicle for him to exemplify his wonderful flautist skills. I thought about having another instrument like the saxophone, trumpet, trombone or even myself on the keys, guitar or whatever but quickly ascertained it had to be the flute.

Another one from the Vaults Series. This track was written in a mood of reflection and the vocals were all in one take, straight off the top improvised. The jazzy mood was a perfect setting for the story .
So the drums went down first and then the piano and vocals. Bass guitar came next.before the synth lead played the ad lib parts. The synth lead was that extra something I was looking for to accentuate the protagonist's rollercoaster of emotions.
This is the version before the version with the horns which appear on 'A Retrospektiv Delux' Side 2.
